Supporting Big Brothers Big Sisters in a variety of ways is right up the alley of our employees as part of our Honeywell Hometown Solutions initiatives. The annual value of Honeywell FM&T’s impact on BBBS totals more than $100,000!
More than 30 employees are mentors to “Littles” in the program, including our president, John Ricciardelli, who with his wife, Ginny, is a “Big Couple” to Zelman.
In 2018, Kansas City-based employees raised more than $26,000 in the Bowl for Kids Sake fundraiser, placing second among corporate teams. More than 150 employees (27 teams!) participated in the event, building on Honeywell’s partnership with Big Brothers Big Sisters through a corporate sponsorship.
In New Mexico, our employee team raised $16,000, landing in first place for corporate fundraising for the event.
The mission of Big Brothers Big Sisters is to change the lives of children facing adversity for the better, forever. The organization operates in communities across the United States, including both rural and urban environments, as well as small and large cities and towns. The organization’s one-to-one mentoring program is adaptable to communities, schools, and military bases.
Donations from Bowl for Kids Sake events provide funds for the organization to conduct background checks on volunteers to ensure child safety, as well as to cover the expenses of providing ongoing support for children, families, and volunteers to build and sustain long-lasting relationships.
