Experiences in nature help veterans cope with PTSD

Honeywell veterans teamed up with Camp Valor Outdoors to offer outdoor activities for veterans recovering from PTSD. The event offered veterans a chance to bond over their shared service while spending therapeutic time in nature.

Highlights from 2018 Camp Valor Outdoors activities sponsored by Honeywell include:

  • In April 2018, Honeywell sponsored a barbecue for 20 warriors at the Spring Turkey Hunting event, and eight Honeywell employees attended.

  • In September 2018, and again in October 2018, Camp Valor Outdoors and Honeywell hosted fishing events at Truman Lake. A total of 14 Camp Valor warriors attended, along with 18 Honeywell employees. The camp rented pontoon and fishing boats, rented a cabana, and catered lunch for a fun day of camaraderie and fellowship at the lake.

  • In November 2018, Honeywell sponsored a barbecue for 20 warriors at the Fall Deer Hunting event, and ten Honeywell employees attended.

  • In November 2018, Honeywell sponsored 13 warriors to attend the Kansas City Chiefs “Salute to Veterans” football game and tailgate party at Arrowhead Stadium.

Honoring our fallen heroes
